Danu

‘Danu stop scribbling on the wall’ shouted Mrs. Trivedi at her 5 years old son from Kitchen making evening meal ready for the family. ‘I am not scribbling, I trying to draw a fish Mummy’ replied Danu softly and confidently.
‘Ok whatever, can you please get back to your desk beta you have a math’s test tomorrow .Ok. Show me where you are up to?’ Mrs. Trivedi softens her voice and went near to his study desk.
He was given 30 math sums for Homework, 10 multiplications, 10 additions, 10 subtractions. He started doing it sincerely as soon as saw his Mom approaching him with more integrity. Mom supervised his work and went back to kitchen.
Mrs. Trivedi overheard her son talking to the wall. She knew he was fond of drawing and was very happy about it as he had a natural inclination but she wanted her son to study at the first priority.
Danu was good in studies, above average but was deeply interested in drawing a painter in him wanted to be out since he was 2 years old. Proof of that could be seen on the walls of his home, last page of books and some times through out in rough book also.
Mrs. Trivedi was thinking about his son. She gazed through window and saw him as a Painter, a Doctor, an Accountant; she used to fancy all the things she ever wanted to do but could not do in life. ‘Ï am hungry what are you cooking Mom?' Mrs. Trivedi turned around and saw Danu standing on the Kitchen door. Mrs. Trivedi looked at him and was about to ask about his homework. ‘Can you please check my home work I have completed it?' asked Danu innocently. ‘Go and get your copy.
And I'll make your dish ready' replied anxious Mom to see how her son performed. Danu completed all his homework. Multiplications, correct 10/10. Subtractions correct 10/10 and additions correct 10 /10 and thought her son is really doing well and have his basics clear. Proud Mom thought his son was going to do well in the test.
After completing her work she went back to Danu’s room to clear up this mess lying on floor and looked at the fish it was complete this time then thought of arranging a gift for her son to encourage him to get more marks
As a daily routine, before going to the bed Mrs. Trivedi escorted her son to toilet. ‘Danu if you get 30/30 in your test tomorrow. I shall get you a new Drawing book with you favorite cartoons and a new crayons set’ said Mrs. Trivedi looking into his eyes while coming back.
Danu got very happy and excited by this offer. His eyes were sparking. Mrs. Trivedi could see her son’s happiness and thought Danu would do very good in his test tomorrow. ‘Promise?’ Danu asked instantly. ‘Yes, Promise’ and gave Danu good night kiss.
