Elephant and the Lion

The mightiest of the elephants was being looked upon with greed by the gang of lions.
But none of them dared to attack because of his big tusk and for the fact that he always lived in group. The lions then planned to take him away from the group so that they can kill and have his meat. The wisest of the lion was chosen to bring him to the pool alone in the night. As per the plan the elephant was befriended and was led towards the pool.

On way, the leading lion fell down in a pit dug by the hunters. Seeing this elephant rushed to his rescue and with the help of his strong trunk brought him out of the pit. The lion was moved at this act of elephant and felt guilty for what he was doing.  He revealed his ugly plan to him and promised to safeguard his life till his last breath.
